Details from the maker

In our stores and on the phone, we hear one question more than any other: "What's the best bourbon ball?" Our honest answer is that it depends on who's tasting! Every Kentucky candy maker has its own recipe, its own bourbon, and its own loyal fans. So we put together a way to settle the debate at home.

Inspired by the classic bourbon flight. If you've ever visited a Kentucky distillery, you know the tradition. You pour a few bourbons side by side and sip slowly to notice what makes each one special. Maybe one is sweeter, one is bolder, and one has a smooth finish you can't stop thinking about. We took that same idea and turned it into a bourbon chocolate tasting!

Here's what makes this flight so much fun:

How to host your own bourbon ball tasting. Invite a few friends, or keep it all to yourself (we won't tell)! Warm a knife under hot water, dry it, and slice each bourbon ball into smaller pieces. Line them up by brand, taste from mildest to boldest, and jot down your favorites. Pair the flight with a glass of your favorite Kentucky bourbon, a cup of coffee, or a cold glass of milk. It's an easy, memorable way to bring people together!
